October: pumpkins, podcasting and "Pervnert".

Today it started to get cold again. I'm in the mood for pumpkin spice lattes and leaves to start falling. I'm happy to be wearing my signiture navy hoodie and jeans. Fall makes me remember this song that I wrote called "One More Chance," because it talks about fall leaves. It will be featured on my next albumn with Danny Oberhelman. (tentatively scheduled for release in spring 2008)

Things have been going well down here in Tulsa. I've been working heavily on my Senior Project titled How We Met. Feel free to click that link and read it. Let me know what you think. I'm somewhat nervous because I will be filming it soon. My life has also been filled with activities at the Newman Center. I am a regularly heard voice on our "On The U - College Catholic Podcast."I love podcasting, I've thought about starting my own, but I don't know what I would talk about. I've had an awesome time helping Steve Nelson, the campus minister at Newman, producing the podcast. We were recently asked to do a simul-cast with the Busted Halocast! It is a pretty exciting opportunity, and I can't wait. We are going to be using Skype, it's an online phone service.

In other news my physics class has suddenly sparked my interest. Thats right physics. Despite being a film student I have to take a few science credits. We recently were discussing the Ideal Gas Law. PV=nRT It brought me back to sophomore chemistry class during my high school days. It made me go back to a memorable day in Chem when we watched a certain Standard Deviants video. The climax of the film involves a young woman walking down a barren suburban street when a suspicious man in a trench coat walks up to her. The character then opens his trench coat to reveal himself completely nude, except for a conveniently placed sign that has the equation PV=nRT. Oh, how I have never forgotten that video... many nightmares since then, who would have thought that I would comeback to that horrible day. (horrible, but quite hilarious) I thought I'd be able to find the video online, but to much avail, nothing. I have only found another blog where a student talks about the video. You may read it here.

I would love to get a copy so I could show it in my physics class. If anyone else has seen this let me know.

Lastly, you may notice a new box on the side. It is a link to my Twitter page. This will let you see what I'm up to during the day. Enjoy.

Fall is near!

Last night I went to a TU home football game against UAB. It was lots of fun, I love going to football games. (TU won, by the way 38-30) TU will soon renovate their football stadium, along with multiple projects on campus. It's pretty exciting. On the way home we stopped by the new hut grabbed some food then went back to my apartment. As we were walking the wind picked up and it started to get cooler. I had a slight swiftness in my step because a small shiver from the wind (I was wearing shorts) made me realize that one of my favorite seasons, Fall, is right around the corner.

I know a lot of people don't like fall as much as summer or spring. They may like the colors but thats about it. I guess people associate Fall with death? I love Fall because of everything I'm about to list: Football, the end of the baseball season, apple picking, camping trips, Halloween, crunching through autumn leaves, Thanksgiving Day/food and the colors of fall. I like that I can wear layers of clothes, much more interesting (yay for Eddie Bauer).

Needless to say my second favorite season is nearly here. (first being spring) I plan on taking full advantage of the short period of time we like to call Fall, and I hope you do too.

Life is Busy

The past few weeks have been crazy busy! Last week in addition to having to read two books for school I had to plan Face 2 Face (praise & worship music with a holy hour), enjoyed a pot-luck dinner with some friends and somehow I’ve been fitting in some music writing in there.

I think that in general Americans make themselves too busy. We all need to take a break! (although sometimes I tend to take too many... ah, the college life!) Europeans tend to relax more, why can’t we be more like them? A mid day siesta or over four weeks of vacation. It sounds pretty nice to me!
